This is my professional website, © 2019 Carlos M. Carrillo, in which I describe major activities in the past 10 years. I got a Master of Science degree in meteorology (Iowa State University) and a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences (University of Arizona). My research area is in the climate variability of the Americas with a focus on the North American monsoon, tropical South America, and the US Great Plains.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
CORNELL UNIVERSITY / 2016-present
Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Researching on drought predictability in collaboration with the Cornell Institute for Climate Smart Solution, and developing a high resolution “drought historical atlas” for the Northeast, and seasonal forecast of drought for the region using data mining approaches. UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN / 2015-2016
Biological System Engineering Department Studying the seasonal predictability of the Northern Great Plains precipitation through General Circulation Models and observations, with an emphasis on seasonal droughts and integrated hydrology. UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA / 2014-2010
Department of Atmospheric Sciences Studying the climate variability of North America through regional climate models and observations, with an emphasis on the North American monsoon region using both historical and future projections datasets. |
